Schedule

7.5 Hours/Week every other Saturday and Sunday

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Nurse, the Certified Nursing Assistant performs delegated functions as a member of a patient care team to provide a variety of services that meet the health care, safety and comfort needs of patients. The CNA collects and reports patient information and data as directed.  The Nursing Assistant helps assigned patients will activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, diet and fluid intake, elimination, skin care, bathing and dressing, positioning, transfers, mobility, and ambulation.  Performs selected tasks, such as patient transport, collection of specimens, distribution of linens and supplies to patient rooms, and delivery of ice and beverages to patients as directed.  As assigned, stays with at-risk patients to monitor safety.  The Nursing Assistant performs and provides care in accordance with all existing regulatory and hospital standards, policies and procedures in a manner that protects the safety and dignity of patients. 

Requirements

REQUIRED:  High School Diploma or Equivalent.  Applicants must have successfully graduated from an approved Nursing Assistant Certification program: CT CNA Certified. Must have one (1) years experience working with the Acute Medical population;. Ability to project a positive, can-do attitude with a keen sense of awareness and responds effectively to ensure the safety of all patients.  Ability to communicate with patients/families, and co-workers to promote effective relationships. Ability to read, write, and speak English and do simple math problems. Clearly communicates and performs responsibilities in a cooperative, respectful, positive and helpful manner while receiving guidance from the Nurse responsible for the patient’s care plan.

DESIRED Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant in an Acute Medical Hospital setting experience___
