Ms. Emond joined Hebrew Senior Care in 1993 as a Recreation Therapist for our Adult Day Center located at Immanuel House in Hartford. In 2011, when Hebrew Senior Care consolidated its two Senior Day Centers onto the campus of 1 Abrahms Boulevard, Ms. Emond became the Day Center’s Program Manager. Since that time, Ms. Emond has developed a specific interest in working with and caring for individuals with dementia. Ms. Emond has received her Dementia Care Practitioner certification in 2013, and in 2017 Ms. Emond was named “A Women’s Champion” by the Alzheimer’s Association.
Ms. Emond has developed award-winning programs for the Senior Day Center that have been featured in Creative Forecasting and The Information Source publications. Her interest in integrative medicine led her to become a Reiki Master/Teacher in 2003. This skill has allowed her to instruct clients and staff alike on the benefits of relaxation. Ms. Emond offers classes on a regular basis. Probably the most important biographical fact about Ms. Emond is that she loves her work, she adores her clients, and she will do whatever is needed to help her families.
